School Outreach Programs

Empowering Safer, More Resilient Communities

Educating and empowering our youth through joint operations with local schools to deliver comprehensive fire safety training and education programs, aiming to empower and protect the next generation. Through interactive sessions and practical demonstrations, students and staff are taught how to recognize fire hazards, respond appropriately during emergencies and implement effective evacuation procedures. A key component of this initiative is our Fire Marshal Training Program, which identifies and trains selected students and school personnel to serve as on-site fire marshals. These individuals are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead evacuations, assist in maintaining order during emergencies and act as liaisons between the school and first responders. By fostering a culture of preparedness and responsibility, Atlantic Fire Services not only enhances safety within schools but also instils lifelong awareness and resilience in our youth.

Our Approach

To ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of our school-based fire safety programs, we implement a structured curriculum that is tailored to different age groups and learning levels. Younger students engage in age-appropriate games, storytelling, and hands-on activities that teach basic concepts like โ€œstop, drop, and roll,โ€ while older students participate in scenario-based drills, fire extinguisher training and hazard identification exercises. Teachers and administrative staff receive specialized workshops focusing on incident command systems, emergency communication and accountability protocols. Regular audits and surprise drills are conducted to assess readiness and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, our Fire Marshal Training Program includes ongoing mentorship, refresher courses and certification renewals to maintain high standards. By integrating these initiatives into the academic calendar, Atlantic Fire Services embeds safety consciousness into the daily rhythm of school lifeโ€”ensuring that preparedness becomes second nature for everyone on campus.
