These Donation Terms apply to donations made to Atlantic Fire and Rescue NPC, trading as Atlantic Fire Services (“Atlantic Fire Services”, “AFS”, “we”, “us” or “our”), whether made through our website, electronic funds transfer (EFT), an approved payment platform or another authorised donation method.

By making a donation to Atlantic Fire Services, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms.

1. About Atlantic Fire Services

Atlantic Fire Services is a South African non-profit company and SARS-approved Public Benefit Organisation working to strengthen fire prevention, community preparedness, volunteer training and emergency response in vulnerable communities.

Legal Entity: Atlantic Fire and Rescue NPC
Trading Name: Atlantic Fire Services
NPC Registration Number: 2024 / 711251 / 08
SARS PBO Reference Number: 930089838
Section 18A: Approved

2. Donations

All donations are voluntary contributions made to support the objectives, programmes and activities of Atlantic Fire Services.

Unless a donation has been formally accepted by Atlantic Fire Services in writing for a specific restricted purpose, donations may be allocated where they are most needed to support our programmes and operational requirements.

3. Online Payments

Online donations may be processed through approved third-party payment service providers.

Payment information submitted through these providers is processed in accordance with the security and privacy practices of the relevant payment provider.

Atlantic Fire Services does not store complete credit or debit card details processed through a third-party payment gateway.

4. Recurring Donations

Where recurring or monthly donations are available, the donor authorises the applicable payment provider to process the selected donation amount at the agreed frequency.

A donor may request cancellation of a recurring donation by contacting Atlantic Fire Services at donate@atlanticfireservices.org.za.

Where possible, cancellation requests should be submitted before the next scheduled payment date to allow sufficient time for processing.

5. Donations Made in Error

Donations are generally considered voluntary and final once successfully processed.

However, if you believe that a donation was made in error, duplicated, processed for an incorrect amount or made without your authorisation, please contact us as soon as possible at donate@atlanticfireservices.org.za.

Refund requests will be considered individually. Atlantic Fire Services may request information reasonably necessary to verify the transaction before processing a refund.

Where a refund is approved, it will generally be returned using the original payment method where reasonably possible.

6. Section 18A Tax Certificates

Atlantic Fire Services is authorised to issue Section 18A tax-deductible donation receipts for qualifying donations in accordance with applicable South African tax legislation.

A Section 18A receipt can only be issued where the donation qualifies and the donor provides the information required for the receipt.

The availability of a Section 18A receipt does not constitute personal tax advice. Donors should obtain professional advice regarding their individual tax circumstances where necessary.

7. Donor Information and Privacy

Personal information provided in connection with a donation may be used to:

  • Process and administer the donation;
  • Maintain appropriate financial and donor records;
  • Issue donation acknowledgements and qualifying Section 18A receipts;
  • Communicate with the donor regarding the donation;
  • Meet our legal, regulatory, accounting and reporting obligations; and
  • Prevent or investigate fraudulent or unauthorised transactions.

Personal information may be shared with trusted service providers, including payment processors and financial institutions, where necessary to process donations or fulfil our legal obligations.

We process personal information in accordance with applicable South African data-protection legislation and our Privacy Policy and POPIA information.

8. Restricted or Designated Donations

Where Atlantic Fire Services has expressly agreed in writing to accept a donation for a particular programme, project or purpose, reasonable efforts will be made to apply the donation accordingly.

If circumstances make the original purpose impractical, impossible or no longer necessary, Atlantic Fire Services will engage with the donor where appropriate regarding the use of the funds.

9. Corporate and In-Kind Donations

Businesses and organisations wishing to make significant financial contributions, sponsor programmes or donate equipment or other goods are encouraged to contact Atlantic Fire Services directly so that the contribution can be properly documented and acknowledged.

10. Payment Security

Atlantic Fire Services uses approved third-party payment providers for online donation processing.

Donors should only make online donations through payment options displayed on the official Atlantic Fire Services website or through payment links and QR codes issued through official Atlantic Fire Services communication channels.
