Our Commitment
Atlantic Fire Services (AFS) is a NGO Volunteer Fire Brigade with the sole purpose to reduce the devastating and traumatic impact of homes destroyed by fires in townships and informal settlements. We are a dedicated non-profit organisation serving our communities with a focus on fire prevention training, emergency response, donation of emergency firefighting equipment, medical supplies and community safety and support.
We achieve this by:
- Identifying high risk areas
- Identifying community volunteers
- Partnering with community leaders and community forums
- Training, equipping and supporting community satellite fire stations
Through our proactive approach to public safety, including Fire Safety Education, Inspections and Community Engagement, we aim not only to respond to emergencies and disasters, but also to prevent them, making us a trusted partner in public safety across the Western Cape.

Our team is comprised of dedicated professionals and volunteers with a shared passion for protecting and serving the Western Cape community. With expertise in fire suppression, emergency medical care, rescue operations and fire prevention, we work together seamlessly to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.
Paul Krüger -
Commander
Paul manages the operations of Atlantic Fire Services(AFS) and leads multiple crews. He oversees all training, strategy, and emergency responses, ensuring effective execution on the ground.

Lyndsay Johnson
As one of the Directors of Atlantic Fire Services, I'm glad to say I'm very honored to be part of the fire prevention unit as well as part of Cape Town City's Safety and Security team.
Just love to help where I can, and it's more than satisfying to see the appreciation of the communities.
Outside work, I'm an easy guy. I like a bit of everything—adventures, chilling with loved ones, watching movies and enjoying good music.
Definitely going out for food and having a good time does it for me.

Cleaning our Community: Cleaning our community is about taking pride in our shared spaces and creating a healthier, safer environment for everyone. By coming together to remove litter and maintain cleanliness, we foster a sense of community, preserve nature, and inspire others to take action. Let’s work together to keep our community beautiful! Educating our Children: Educating our children lays the foundation for a brighter future. By teaching them essential life skills, values, and knowledge, we empower them to make informed decisions, become responsible citizens, and contribute positively to society. Education not only shapes individual potential but also strengthens entire communities.

Dedicated firefighter at Atlantic Fire Services. I serve with pride, discipline, and heart — because every call is someone’s worst day, and I want to be the reason it gets better.
I’m a family guy first. Being a father teaches me patience, courage, and responsibility, and that’s what I bring to my team and my community.
I’m passionate about giving back, protecting lives, and helping people in their toughest moments.

William Roux -
Rapid Response Commander
William is responsible for leading small teams of firefighters during emergency calls. He ensures that operations are carried out safely and effectively, and acts as the link between crew and command staff.

Seamus acts as our tactical support unit Commander which consists of an armoured Land Rover and Ultra High Pressure fire fighting trailer.

Loyiso Skoti
Secretary general
Loyiso Skoti serves as Secretary General of Atlantic Fire & Rescue, coordinating community programs, volunteer teams, and on-the-ground support. His leadership and commitment strengthen fire readiness and help protect vulnerable communities across Cape Town.

Snazo Pantshwa
As an Administrator at Atlantic Fire Services, I’ve developed a deep passion for fire awareness. I’m committed to contributing my skills and knowledge to keep our community safer and more prepared. Outside of work, I enjoy watching true story movies and documentaries and spending quality time with my kids.
