ABOUT US
Our Commitment
Atlantic Fire Services (AFS) is an NGO Volunteer Fire Brigade with the sole purpose of fighting fires and establishing volunteer satellite fire stations in informal settlements. We are a dedicated non-profit organisation serving the Western Cape with a focus on fire prevention, emergency response and community safety. Our team of trained volunteers ensure rapid and effective services to informal settlements in urban and rural areas, providing critical fire suppression, emergency medical assistance and specialized rescue operations.
We achieve this by:
- Identifying high risk areas
- Identifying community volunteers
- Partnering with community leaders and community forums
- Training, equipping and supporting community satellite fire stations
Through our proactive approach to public safety, including Fire Safety Education, Inspections and Community Engagement, we aim not only to respond to emergencies and disasters, but also to prevent them, making us a trusted partner in public safety across the Western Cape.
Our Mission
Protecting Lives: Providing swift and effective emergency response services to safeguard our communities.
Strengthening Communities: Promoting disaster preparedness and resilience through training and education.
Reducing Risk: Helping communities minimise the impact of disasters through proactive planning and risk management.
Our Vision
Supporting Schools: We’re proud to support schools by providing resources, guidance, and hands-on educational programs that empower students with essential safety skills and knowledge. Our goal is to help create safe, inspiring learning environments where every child can thrive. Together, we’re building a brighter future for our community!
Cleaning our Community: Cleaning our community is about taking pride in our shared spaces and creating a healthier, safer environment for everyone. By coming together to remove litter and maintain cleanliness, we foster a sense of community, preserve nature, and inspire others to take action. Let’s work together to keep our community beautiful!
Educating our Children: Educating our children lays the foundation for a brighter future. By teaching them essential life skills, values, and knowledge, we empower them to make informed decisions, become responsible citizens, and contribute positively to society. Education not only shapes individual potential but also strengthens entire communities.
