Satellite
Fire Stations

Strengthening Community Based Response

Volunteers from the community are trained, equipped and supported in the use of fire extinguishers, fire blankets and first aid. AFS Satellite fire stations are strategically located mini-stations established within urban communities to enhance emergency response capabilities. Their primary purpose is to reduce response times by placing trained volunteers from the community and essential equipment closer to high-risk, inaccessible or remote areas. In densely populated informal settlements, these stations play a crucial role in improving access to emergency services, ensuring that help arrives faster when every second counts. Beyond rapid response, satellite fire stations also serve as local hubs for fire safety education, community outreach, and support, fostering stronger relationships between emergency responders and the communities they serve.
